Kobe Has Lost His Mind

Kobe is losing it!

Kobe got into it with Lamar Odom, his teammate, up to the point where tv's and lights were smashed near the visitors locker room. Kobe’s frustration with teammates grows

Let's recap:

1. Kobe gets into it with Shaq, and says that Shaq has childlike jealousy and is selfish. Kobe on Shaq: 'Childlike selfishness and jealousy'

2. Kobe gets into it with Phil Jackson and snipes with him back and forth off and on the court.
Former Lakers coach Phil Jackson details clashes with Kobe Bryant

3. Kobe and Karl Malone get into it because his whorish wife accuses Karl Malone of trying to hit on her, when in actuality, she was cozying up to him, calling him cowboy. The phreak. Bad pass: Kobe-Karl rift over Vanessa Bryant

4. Kobe gets into it with Lamar Odom and his current teammates, up to and including saying comments that shock people within earshot. It is also reported that Mr. Odom (who at this point, probably wishes that he had landed elsewhere besides Days of Our Lakers), was escorted by security guards back on the bus. Kobe’s frustration with teammates grows

Can you name that tune in one note? The common denominator in all of this is Kobe. He is also not allowing others to exercise their talents in the triangle offense, which has been operated successfully with the Chicago Bulls franchise, and, most recently, the Lakers, who have nine championships between 1991 and 2002.

What team is this? The Lakers or the laKers? I remember when Shaq left, I made some lyrics up that match "Under the Bridge", by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Like to hear it, hear it goes:

Sometimes I feel like we don't have a center. .
Sometimes I feel like, Kobe Bryant. . .
Screwed up the LA Lakers, in the city of Angels
Lonely as I am, together we'll cry. . .
And I don't ever want to feel, like I did that day. . .
Take to the place I love, take me all the way
Kobe needs to go. He is a cancer and a pain in the behind. Ya think?

I'm So Glad We Had this Time Together

'Tis another new year!

Good Days, Bad Days, Long Days, Short Days. Fun Days, Grueling Days, Panic Days, Relaxed Days.

The 05 brought us a myriad of new issues, responsibilities and charges. We lost friends, and gained new ones. :) Furthermore, we learned more about ourselves and what we expect and need out of our brief stay on earth.

We are reminded the importance of love and life, and that the support of family and/or friends is comparable to a mirage that springs to life in a desert.

There were births that made us smile, and deaths that made us mourn. But through it all, we are still together. . Some of us no longer on this earth; others able to read this and remember, what, in particular brought you joy and/or pain in the 05. (See, you're thinking, aren't you). So am I.

Let's make it happen in the 06. But before we do, let's say goodbye to those who will remained encapsulated in the 05. Let's drain one for the homies.

Ossie Davis - Thank you for everything. We'll take care of Ruby for you. . .

Luther Vandross - The Superstar, the Bad Boy. You know, there's "Lutha", and then there's "Luther". Lutha is "Superstar, Wait for Love, A House is Not a Home, If this World Were mine". Luther is "Dance With My Father", and all the new stuff. All in all, we miss you all the same. I tried to find a picture that was a cross between Lil' Lutha and Big Lutha.

Nipsey Russell - In truth, I didn't know the brother was still with us. He died on my birthday, too, didn't know that until i looked it up. (for future reference in case you want to hook me up, my birthday is October 2.)

Richard Pryor - Jo Jo Dancer. . . Your Life is Calling. . .

Shirley Chisholm - Y'all know I couldn't put nothing up other than this picture right huurre. She is working this Afro! I thought she was no longer with us as well long ago until my mother told me I was confusing her with Barbara Jordan.

Johnnie Cochran, Esq. - The man, the counselor, the legend. Legend long before OJ Simpson. Around long before the People vs. OJ Simpson, he had gained a spectacular reputation as a defender and counselor of civil rights issues.

Rosa Parks - The OG Representing!

For all those that the Good Lord has still on Earth. . .Have a wonderful Happy New Year. Blessings to you and yours in the 06. Let's be about it. Take care and I will see you in the new year, Lord willing and the creek don't rise.

Million Dollar Broads

So, Julia Roberts is highest-paid actress - at a whopping 20 million dollars a picture.

Nicole Kidman crosses the finish line at a close second, with a per-movie price of $16 million to $17 million, followed by Walk the Line star Reese Witherspoon and actress-producer Drew Barrymore, (that's a joke) who each command $15 million per project.

Everyone else on the list is not surprising - Jennifer Aniston is questionable. I never got anything about her besides her hair, which is absolutely gorgeous. Personally, the most legit person on there is Jodie Foster.

Some people dropped off from last year - Halle Berry, Sandra Bullock, and Jennifer Lopez. Okay I'll bite, the only person on there that I believe can carry a movie somewhat is Sandra, and that's pushing it. Yes, I know. I have tried, but I just can't get into Halle/Jennifer's acting. Halle seems cool but I can't feel her, you know?

With that said, once again, we've got to create our own list of bankable women. Phenomenal women, that's them.

Angela Bassett - This woman has been robbed of her glory. We love her, sure, but we all know what this woman is deserving of, and more.

Tyra Ferrell - The momma from boyz in the hood. Have you seen a true to life actress as good as this. And I don't see her in any roles at all. Did she disappear into the oblivion.

Lynn Whitfield: What a beauty and star in her own right. She can play a down trodden woman, she can play period pieces (Josephine Baker, anyone?) And her role in Eve's Bayou was nothing short of Oscar Caliber.

Lonetta McKee. She has been around a long time playing character actors. I really feel for these women. There are so many rich roles not granted to us and I truly feel that she is one of the best. She is a class act.

Diahann Carroll: Dis Julie and Claudine y'all! That's enough to get her on here, GP style. She was also the wife of the man who got killed in the Five Heartbeats. Let's not forget she was Dominique Devereux, the first black character on Dynasty. She was nominated as best actress for her Claudine role. If you don't know about Claudine, you should have it in your collection. They have it for the low, low price of five -ninety-nine at Target and Walmart.

Cicely Tyson: Stellar black acting. A woman way before her time. A woman after my own heart. She can play and do anything. She was also nominated for her role in Sounder. Yeah. Get that one too for your blacollection.

LisaGay Hamilton - She's that chick from the Practice, but played in more stuff than that. She's raw, she is real, and she transcends into her characters.

Sanaa Lathan: She feels her characters. Come on, when you were watching love and basketball, and she was doing one on one with him for his heart, couldn't you just feel the thud of MichelleNdege Ocello pulsating in your own heart. You couldn't help but root for her.

Alfre Woodard: Just the mention of her name. I don't know anything that she has been in that I wouldn't watch. Only because she is credible, true to form, and spectacular in her delivery.

Pam Grier-She's on here because she's Pam Grier.

Lena Horne: Because it is what it is. And she's it.
Debbi Morgan - Totally underused, underpaid, and everything in between. Did you see her in Eve's Bayou? And you only thought she had nice dimples?

Nia Long - I think she is wonderful and well on her way to landing the role of a lifetime.

Salli Richardson: She doesn't let her beauty get in the way of playing some good characters. I mean she can really act. She once cut all of her hair off so she could be taken more seriously. Okay, Salli, "We like you, We really like you!"

Gabrielle Union: See Nia Long Comments

Regina King: She killed it in her Ray role. Plus i liked her in 227, no lie.

Jenifer Lewis - Jenifer Lewis is Bad. . .Period.

S. Epatha Merkeson - She has one of the longest standing lead roles on Television (law and order). She just won an emmy for Lackawanna Blues. She is wonderful.

CCH Pounder - A character actress with a lot of character. She deserves so much more.

Madge Sinclair

Rosalind Cash - Who is one of the very best, black or white, BAR None.

Hattie McDaniel - The one who paved the way.

Beah Richards - I just loved her to pieces.

I am leaving people out and this is not my intent - People can you help a sista out.

Maybe the Parakeet Will Tell Us

Did Baretta do it? But based on a Verdict reached in Robert Blake case by Bonnie Lee Bakley's family and relatives, he is liable for her death.

I know that the criminal courts go by "Reasonable Doubt" and that civil courts abide by the "Preponderance of Evidence" that's not my concern.

It appears that everything is being traced and linked back to the OJ Simpson Case. . .

The OJ Simpson case is a by product of society. On a literal scale, the OJ case is about the People vs. Orenthal James Simpson, for two counts of violation of Penal code 187, murder in the first degree, a felony. But on a figurative sense, it shone a spotlight on racial relations, interracial dating, domestic abuse, crime and justice, cameras in the courtroom, and anything else in between.

The fury that resulted from that trial still permeates the air of our society today. It made heroes of almost all the frontline attorneys, (though the defense attorneys were more villified than the proscecutors), and virtually exonerated OJ Simpson from any professional endorsements for life. (Lizzy Borden anyone?). It doesn't matter what I think about the case (For the record, I do believe OJ had something to do with it. . .I just don't know the specifics), but I do know that these cases parallel each other in terms of motive, opportunity, and means, but lack the glitter, flash, and bling of the OJ case, (with the pretty white damsel in distress, to boot!).

The Men I Love

People magazine 2005's Sexiest Men Alive has been announced. . .Matthew McC, (okay) Anderson Cooper (What, that's the former fool from the Mole), Terence Howard (okay), Nick Lachey (I mean, for the tween, I guess), Orlando Bloom (RU kidding me?)

Whateva. I've decided to put together KPAT's 2005 Sexiest Men Alive: Like to hear it, hear it goes: Now, I have particular preferences, but I'm not going to isolate it to that, I will include the general population of sistahs and their preferences.

Micheal Jordan - Rich, Tall, Dark, Handsome, Dresses Well. He just LOOKS like he smells good. Sexual Chocolate, ladies and gentleman. Sexual Chocolate!

Boris Kodjoe - An all around aestetically pleasing brother. Real Pretty-Like. Someone you would rather stare at than actually be with. Like, looking at a painting.

Denzel Washington - Because he's dreamy. Imma take this picture off with him and Sanaa at a later date.

Richard T. Jones - Isn't he delicious? His character in the Movie The Wood reminds me of a man I know and love. HIM!

Allen Iverson - For keeping it Gangsta, and for being "the Answer" We love you, AI!

Eric Benet- Hello, who wouldn't want a bahamian looking brother whose good looking to sing to you, barefoot, with some linen pants and no shirt. I doubt he is an addict. Probably wasn't getting none at home, BUT ANYWAY. . . Plus, I don't like the way the media has villified him in light of him and Halle's separation. Ain't right, chile.

Jesse L. Martin - Because he's JESSE L. MARTIN.

Shemar Moore: Not particularly my cup of tea, but he's kept it black all these years, we gone give him love. . .

Giancarlo Esposito - This Blaxi-rican man is one of the most talented men in the world. And that, is beauty. Plus, that's Dean. . .Big Brother All Migh-TEE from School Daze!

Ving Rhames - A man's man. Black man hood - come on. . .Notable achievements are the cooking breakfast scene in Baby Boy. Classic!

The black guy on the Mercedes Benz Commercial - Yeah don't know his name. . .But

Isaiah Washington - He has such a regality to him, but not with an air of pomp and circumstance.

Mel Jackson - A cutie from the light skin-ded bunch. He looked so good in Soul Food I couldn't keep him off the list. Blogger kept screwing me so I couldn't download his picture. . . So here is the link you can go look yo-self:,%20Mel%20(I)

Keith Sweat: We all have or had his cassette or CD. He looks pimpadocious on this picture though, but that's Keith for you.

Nelly - Thug Passion at It's Best. . .Da Durty, Durty. . .

Back in The Day - Honorable Mentions: Don't front, NONE OF Y'ALL!

Christopher Williams
Reggie Theus
All the guys in Ready for the World
New Edition - Whateva, all of y'all had a crush on at least one of them, shag and all
Phillip Michael Thomas
Julius Erving
Walter Payton
Stoney Jackson

Honorable Mentions - Non Brothers:

Mike Piazza
Sean Connery
Robert De Niro - Because he Loves Us.
Joe Lando
Lorenzo Lamas

The OG's:

Billy Dee Williams - Please, Please, STOP acting like Billy Dee Williams was not THE man back in the day. . . I have ZERO shame in putting that Colt 45 picture up, too.

Calvin Lockhart - Probably "THE" leading black male actor in the 60's and 70's. Okay, okay, you're still like who the hell is Calvin Lockhart. He's the daddy of the bride that Eddie Murphy was going to marry in 'Coming to America'. DAYUM!

Max Julien - "It's the Mack!" (HAHAHA inside joke) - And, the poster is 66 percent off! Richard Roundtree - Shut Yo Mouth!

Paul Roberson - The quinteseential scholar-athlete, the closest thing in the early century of what it meant to be a black superstar. . .

Sam Cooke

Tupac Amaru Shakur

Marvin Gaye - Okay, two things: One, doesn't it look like he's saying "Bayyybbeee", and two, if you haven't heard him sing the Star Spangled Banner, do so immediately.

Walter Payton - Sweetness, he is.

Malcolm X

I hate to miss someone. . .Please feel free to add. . .Would love to hear from you.
